Overview

Players make two equal bets and can switch the second card dealt between hands. This powerful option requires modified basic strategy but offers excellent odds.

Strategy

Master the switching decision first - when to exchange cards between hands. Then learn the modified basic strategy (dealer pushes on 22, blackjack pays 1:1). The switch decision captures the most value and is the most complex aspect.

What to Look For

  • Super Match side bet occasionally vulnerable
  • Games with 6 decks better than 8
  • Liberal doubling and splitting rules
  • Lower minimum bets (need to bet both hands)

Risks & Considerations

  • Complex strategy with many decision points
  • Blackjack pays 1:1 instead of 3:2
  • Dealer push on 22 gives back much of switch advantage
  • Requires betting two hands simultaneously

Pro Tip

Always start with proper bankroll management. Even with an edge, variance can be brutal. Never risk more than 1-2% of your total bankroll on a single session, and ensure you have at least 20-30 buy-ins for your chosen stakes.
